Mike's vision is to assist businesses in identifying inventory inefficiencies which will lead to a reduction in total inventory costs and to provide online training in supply chain, logistics and inventory management.
Career Summary
Mike has 40 years of experience in supply chain and logistics management within the public and private sectors. He instructs Supply Chain and Inventory Management courses for the VA Acquisition Academy (VAAA) Supply Chain Management School (SCMS). He also facilitates and instructs Supply Chain, Inventory Management, Logistics and Business Negotiation courses for The University of Arkansas-Grantham and developed an undergraduate Logistics Management course for the university. Previously, he has instructed Supply Chain and inventory courses for Rasmussen College and was selected as a member of the Rasmussen College Supply Chain Advisory Board.
As a consultant, He has developed business case analysis which showcased the current state of internal/external supply chains, stakeholders, and processes, SME interviews, product portfolios, cross functional process maps, and the proposed future state containing best-practice recommendations that align with the firm’s business plan.
Supply Chain Experience in Public and Private Sectors
As a consultant supporting projects in the public sector, Mike has participated in the United States Army Sustainment Command (ASC) Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) transformation by providing LMP/SAP training to civilian personnel at Rock Island Arsenal, Illinois and the Army Preposition Site (APS) located in Livorno, Italy. He participated in the United States Air Force transformation effort by analyzing inventory usage data to determine replenishment requirements, defining ABC inventory definition and pareto analyses, defining best practice KPIs to support the business case analysis, and LEAN recommendations regarding end-to-end supply chain/business process re-engineering for the Material Repair Overhaul (MRO) Transformation at Air Force Material Command (AFMC) at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.
In the private sector, Mike was a Logistics Center Manager with Henkel Consumer Adhesives responsible for the start-up and management of a 220,000 square foot facility and a Kanban Materials Manager with Trinity Industries, a heavy manufacturer of railcars. He has also participated in continuous improvement methods such as LEAN and 5S.
Education and Affiliations
Mike has an MBA in Logistics Management from Touro University International and a BS in Organizational Leadership from Southern Nazarene University. He is certified with APICS as a Supply Chain Operations Reference Professional (SCOR-P) and a Certified Professional Property Specialist (CPPS) with the National Property Management Association (NPMA). He also has a Graduate Certificate from the Kelley School of Business (Indiana University) in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
